LRHS Silver Stars understand summer isn’t all vacation

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- The start of summer typically means beach trips, relaxing, vacation, and hanging out with friends. However, for the Lakewood Ranch Silver Stars Dance Team, summer is just an invitation for more practices. With their first practice on May 1, the Silver Stars jumped right into learning their pom routine for this season from guest choreographer Kirsten Winship.

Silver Stars dance team schedules auditions

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- The 2016-2017 Silver Stars dance team season is coming to an end, which means auditions for the new season are starting. After a very successful year, the team is anxious to see new as well as familiar faces at the auditions. A pre-audition meeting is scheduled for tonight in the LRHS media center.

Silver Stars ready to show off skills and gain new talent

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- Now that the stress of National competition has finally concluded, the LRHS Silver Stars dance team is putting all of their focus onto their next event, their second annual showcase, scheduled for 7 p.m., March 31 in the school auditorium. This event features 15 dances that the girls themselves have choreographed, ranging from solos to large groups, along with their two national competition routines choreographed by coach Kourtney Kalahar and guest Kailyn Dalton.

It was the second straight year the dance team participated in the championships. Silver Stars prepare for nationals

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – With National Dance Team Championships (NDTC) coming up on Feb. 3-6, the LRHS Silver Stars Dance Team is working long and hard on their two routines. The team will have their second “can shake” fundraiser Jan. 20-21 at the Publix, 11205 E State Road 70. to raise more money to help with their nationals funds.

Dance team looks forward to holiday event

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – This Friday the LRHS Silver Stars dance team will perform at Lakewood Main Street’s annual Holidays Around the Ranch community event. The dancers are scheduled to perform at 7 p.m. The Silver Stars have been a part of this event for many years and are excited to be performing again this year.

Schools offer helpful girl-to-girl communication

The international non-profit peer-to-peer mentoring program called Girl Talk has created a twitter campaign #BeSDMC which stands for Be Strong, Determined, Motivated, and Celebrated.

Dance team $erves dinner for profit

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS Silver Stars Dance Team hosted a successful fundraiser 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., Oct. 29 at Carrabbas. The team raised a total of $1,290 which will go towards their funding for this year’s national competition, team jackets, new poms and more. At the fundraiser, the team was serving customers that bought tickets to the event.

Silver Stars prepping for national spotlight

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS Silver Stars Dance Team is already half-way through prepararing their second routine for national competition, scheduled for Feb. 3-5. The team will compete against other qualifying high school teams from around the world. Their first practice was on Sept. 9 and they learned a lyrical dance signed under the jazz category.

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS Student Government Association (SGA) has a snapchat account to get the school’s students and staff connected with what is going on with the school, sports, and clubs. SGA president Victoria Boudreau, senior said, “Most students have snapchat so that way it’s easier to get information to them.”.

Lakewood Leaders extends deadlines

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – Hurricane Hermine has caused yet another date to be rescheduled here at LRHS. The due date for Lakewood Leaders applications has moved back to Sept. 9. “In order to be a member of Lakewood Leaders, applicants must turn in an envelope with their name and t-shirt size written on the front, and the envelope must contain their $20 of dues and their consent form by this Friday.”.
